It may seem premature but 2018 and the new GDPR directive is not as far away as you think.
So to help you prepare for the new regulations, here’s our quick and easy 5 step guide to getting your business ready for GDPR.
1. Find out where all your data is
Review your current approach to managing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by arranging for a GDPR Readiness Assessment to be carried out. This comprehensive and often free assessment and GDPR overview (we don’t charge), will gain insight into your IT estate and flag any data issues which could lead to a breach of the new directive.
2. Don’t keep GDPR to yourself
Tell your colleagues about the new GDPR guidelines. You don’t want “No one mentioned GDPR to me” to lead to a substantial fine, so make sure your team are up to date about the new directive and are supported throughout the process. To help you do this…
3. Nominate or appoint a dedicated GDPR Officer
This person will be responsible for all aspects relating to GDPR, including tracking and reporting on all PII data, even when it’s located on corporate laptops or mobiles. 4. Consolidate your data
